Duties of the Supervisor
The Township Supervisor moderates all board meetings, and may call special meetings. The Supervisor nominates members to the different commissions and boards. The Supervisor also prepares and proposes the Township budget for consideration by the board. The Supervisor also works with the Clerk in preparing the agenda for the board meetings.
The Supervisor is also responsible for the assessing functions of the township. If the supervisor is not certified as an assessor, then the Township Board must hire a certified assessor.
Statutory Duties include:
Secretary to Board of Review
Township's legal agent
Must maintain records of supervisor's office
Responsible for tax allocation board budget
Appoints some commission members
May appoint a deputy
The Supervisor is elected every four years at the time of the Presidential Election.
