Duties of the Trustees

A trustee is an individual placed in a position of public trust with fiduciary responsibility to manage the affairs of the township for the best interest of the public. The trustee has the responsibility to attend township board meetings and participate in decisions and deliberations. Trustees are frequently given additional duties and responsibilities by township board action. Such duties may include being a member of the zoning board of appeals (ZBA), member of the planning commission (PC) or others as outlined in the MCL (Michigan Compiled Law) 41.96 and Michigan Constitution Article XI, Section 3. Harvey Warrick serves as a member of the zoning board of appeals. Rick VanAkin serves as a member of the planning commission.
